This workshop includes:

  • Demonstration of dividing a dahlia clump, what to look for and what makes a viable tuber.
  • Discussion about storage of dahlias.
  • Hands on experience dividing 2 dahlia clumps with support from the Florelie team as needed
  • Delicious afternoon tea provided by local business Edible Indulgence.
  • Q and A with Ethan Merton (agronomist), Lorelie Merton (flower farmer) and Hannah Morley (Bachelor of Agricultural Studies/flower farmer).
  • All tools are provided for this workshop and you get to take home our four favourite things we use for dividing so you’re all set to go for dividing your own clumps at home. A selection of dahlia tubers will also be provided as part of the experience. You will be able to swap tubers with other participants so that you get a range of different varieties.
  • A printed booklet about growing dahlias with information about growing dahlias will be provided for you to take home.
  • The workshop will be held at the Bungaree Mechanics Hall adjacent to our farm in Bungaree and we will walk to the farm to look at tuber storage, please wear closed toe shoes and sensible clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.

Workshop details will be emailed to participants closer to the date.
